Email Marketing Cost Calculator

AWeber, GetResponse, Moosend and Mailchimp. Put in your list size and how many emails you send a month, and see what each one actually charges.

How the calculator works

Put in your subscriber count and how many emails you send a month. The tool keeps those two numbers separate on purpose, because most pricing pages blur them: a 5,000-person list mailed twice a week is 40,000 sends a month, not 5,000. Switch between yearly and monthly billing to see what the annual commitment saves you — roughly a sixth on AWeber.

Why the send limit matters more than the headline price

Two of the three platforms cap how much you can send. AWeber Plus allows twelve times your subscriber count a month; AWeber Lite allows ten. Mailchimp works the same way on a tiered multiple — ten on Essentials, twelve on Standard, fifteen on Premium — and bills overages when you pass it. GetResponse includes unlimited monthly sends on every paid plan.

That difference shows up on the invoice. A 5,000-contact list mailed daily is about 150,000 sends a month, which is past what AWeber Plus allows and straight into Mailchimp overage territory. GetResponse charges the same either way.

What the numbers show at common list sizes

On yearly billing the winner changes as the list grows. At 1,000 subscribers: AWeber Plus $37.50, Mailchimp Standard $45, GetResponse Marketer $48.38. At 5,000: AWeber Plus $75, GetResponse Marketer $77.90, Mailchimp Standard $100. At 25,000: GetResponse $176.30, AWeber Plus $208.33, Mailchimp Standard $310. Mailchimp is rarely the cheapest above its free tier, and it is the only one of the three that can bill you beyond the advertised plan price.

Which plans are compared, and why

The calculator pairs AWeber Plus, GetResponse Marketer and Mailchimp Standard because those three are the closest feature match — unlimited or near-unlimited automations, multiple users and full reporting. Mailchimp Essentials is cheaper but caps automations at four steps and drops branded templates and dynamic content, so comparing it to the other two would flatter it unfairly. The cheaper entry tiers, GetResponse Starter and AWeber Lite, are shown underneath the main result for reference.

Free plans, if you are just starting out

AWeber Free covers 500 subscribers and 3,000 emails a month. GetResponse Free covers 500 contacts and 2,500 newsletters. Mailchimp Free stops at 250 contacts and pauses sending rather than charging you. Under 500 subscribers, two of the three will carry you for nothing.

Where the figures come from

Every price is read from the provider’s own pricing page — aweber.com, getresponse.com and mailchimp.com — in September 2026. Yearly rates are the discounted per-month figure for an annual commitment. GetResponse prices continuously by list size and publishes fixed tiers, so we quote the next tier up, which means its real figure is often a little lower than shown. Prices move; check the current rate before you sign up. MarketDeals earns a commission on some links, which changes nothing about the maths or the ranking.
